Internal Flow Drum Screen
An internal flow drum screen is a mechanical industrial wastewater treatment equipment used to separate solid materials from wastewater. Its rotating drum structure provides continuous screening and reduces the amount of solids reaching downstream treatment equipment.
Internal flow drum screens are suitable for industrial applications requiring the removal of fine solids, fibers and suspended particles and can be integrated into various wastewater treatment processes.
What Is an Internal Flow Drum Screen?
In an internal flow drum screen, wastewater is fed into the inside of the rotating drum. Water passes through the wedge wire screen or perforated sheet surface while solids larger than the screen openings remain inside the drum.
This system provides mechanical separation of solid materials from industrial wastewater. The screen type and opening size can be selected according to wastewater characteristics and the required screening accuracy.
Working Principle
Wastewater enters the internal section of the drum and is distributed across the screening surface. As the drum rotates, screened water passes through the surface into the collection section while solid materials remain inside the drum.
The retained solids are transported toward the discharge section by the rotation of the drum and the internal conveying system. Automatic spray nozzles can be used to keep the screen surface clean and reduce clogging. This allows the rotary drum screen to operate continuously.
Technical Features
