External Flow Drum Screen
External flow drum screen is a mechanical wastewater treatment equipment used to separate solid materials from industrial wastewater. Its rotating drum system helps retain solids and reduce the load on downstream treatment processes.
External flow drum screens can be manufactured according to different flow rates and process requirements and can be used in a wide range of industrial wastewater treatment applications.
What Is an External Flow Drum Screen?
In an external flow drum screen, wastewater is directed onto the outer surface of the rotating drum. Water passes through the screen surface while solid materials are retained on the outside of the drum and removed from the system.
Screen opening, machine capacity and other equipment specifications are determined according to the characteristics of the wastewater and the requirements of the process.
Working Principle
Industrial wastewater is fed onto the outer surface of the drum. As the drum rotates, water passes through the screen surface while solid materials remain on the outside.
The retained solids are transported toward the discharge section by the rotation of the drum. Cleaning and solids discharge systems can be configured according to the requirements of the application.
